KS Farm Stallion Services
We have 6 APHA Stallions and 2 AQHA stallions. Most of them are home-raised, and have been chosen for their beauty, disposition, athletic ability, movement, and excellent conformation. The colour is a bonus. We have some outstanding bloodlines which are growing increasingly rare and difficult to find.
The primary focus of our breeding program is coloured horses with the size and movement to excel in the English disciplines. We also have a program geared toward Reining, Penning, and All-Round horses. There are several decade of carefully planned breeding behind the KS herd, and we are fortunate to have these horses.
All of our home-raised stallions are pastured together during the winter and summer, except when they are breeding. We feel that this gives them a much more complete and fulfilling life than being stuck alone in a stallion pen. It is also a testament to their brains and temperament. We handle all stallions with only a rope halter, and when they are haltered they are expected to behave like geldings. They are a pleasure to be around. Our non-resistance training is based loosely upon Chris Irwin's principles, but we use our own techniques.
Our stallions are available for outside breedings. Mares will be kept in individual pens while they are here.
Breeding fees: $600 LFG. Mare care is $5.00/day.
There is a multiple mare discount, and a reduced fee for Warmblood/Sporthorse mares.
